Buzznet Interview transcript
Apr. 29th, 2010 11:03 pmPart One: I'm Younger Now
Ryan: Well, I mean, I guess if you mean like going from being in a really popular band to not being in one, is that what you...?
Interviewer: Yeah, just kind of like starting over.
Ryan: I mean, I dunno. At least so far it's been really exciting. There was a lot...at least a long period of time in Panic where I wasn't really excited about it anymore. Even though this is in some ways starting over, like touring in a van and all that stuff again, at least it's like we're really proud of what we're doing and excited to be doing it.
Interviewer: That’s cool.
Jon: We feel young again.
Interviewer: You feel young again?
Jon: Definitely.
Ryan: I was getting old, now...like Bob Dylan said: "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now."
Part Two: Sexting
Jon: I don't know. I don't--there's a lot of songs on the record that don't sound like they were a throwback, so to speak
Unknown band member: I think the lyrics seem modern, modern lyrics.
All: Yeah.
Interviewer: That's true.
Jon: More relevant to today's times.
Ryan: To today's young teenager.
J: Yeah that's...there’s a song about texting. Sexting.
Interviewer: No there’s not!
Laughter
Ryan: Don't tell him what the song's about!
Interviewer: Well, I didn’t get that one!
Ryan: It's a secret track, you've got to play it backwards. Take a Vacation backwards is actually...
Jon: Sexting
Ryan: Says...I can't even actually say it, it's so profound.
Interviewer: Profane.
Jon: Profoundly profane.
